Prior to receiving the Nokia 808 PureView I have been rather attached to my Leica D-Lux-5 and the capability of its close-up macro mode.

The Leica has been my default camera when it came to the specialised photography of gadgets and those engagements where I wanted to achieve the very best picture possible for those unforgettable and memorable occasions.

However, while using the Nokia 808, the Leica made a new home on the desk shelf.

One aspect of the Nokia 808 that I really wanted to test was the close-up macro mode at which the Leica excels.

The attached photographs are of images shot with the 808 in PureView mode and set to the macro option. Click on the image to view the full-sized original image.

 

In the flower below you can see a bee within the petal.
